Is the link for applying to be an editor down?

I just finished my application (noon, PST) to be an editor and submitted it. The link, submit.cgi took me to a page about being reinstated as an editor. There was no confirmation page, no confirmation email, is this a misdirected link? I'm positive I've never been an editor before so I don't think it's detecting me as a past member and asking me to be reinstated.

The form asks you a question: "Have you ever been an editor before?"

If you say "yes" you'll get the reinstatement message.

It may (I'm not sure) also give you the message if you choose a userid that some former editor had used.

Try with a different name, and make sure you deny ever having been a member of the Republican Pa... um, editing community before.

You might have tried to use a name that has already been used by someone else previously.

There are also some other problems with the editor application links in some categories. Several servers have been moved around, and redirects put in place, but not all of those links are working quite as expected.

The server issues should be resolved by the end of the month. Try applying with a different username to the one you first thought of, then report back in this thread what happened.
