Is there an 'ACTIVE' editor?

In common with a lot of these posts, I too suggested my site about 6 months ago, and again last month (just in case the submission got lost).

Is there any way to tell if there is an 'ACTIVE' editor for a category?

If there is no active editor for the category I am submitting too (Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Gifts)
then I may consider applying to become an editor, and dedicating some of my time to the cause.

The last time the page was updated is only yesterday. Can I intepret that to mean that there is an active editor?

If there is no editor listed in the specific category you mentioned, there are at least 200 editalls and metas, as well as any editor listed above that category that can edit there.

IMO, that category would be way too large for a new editor. It would be best to find a smaller subcategory under /Gifts.

The page would show an update whenever any changes were made. It could be an editor working on listings, updates, cleaning spam, etc. - or it could be one of the automated tools doing some pm on broken links.
