I have been trying to become an editor for the past 3 months. couldnt get throught. ok leave that. I am a software programmer. Is there any way I can help Dmoz. or any way other than waiting to become an editor.

You can always suggest sites that are worth a listing in DMOZ, and when you do so describe them with titles and descriptions according to DMOZ guidelines.

Or if you find any sites that shouldn't be listed anymore (there are many reasons why sites are no longer listable) and report them to us. Either through the "update listing" link at the DMOZ category page or through the Report Hijacks, Dead Links, Inappropriate ODP Content, and other issues here ONLY thread here at R-Z.

I'm new to this field, and I would like to know more about becoming an editor. Right now I don't have any idea about it. Could you please help me get an idea on that. What are the procedures I've to undergo for that? Waiting for your favourable reply.

In the "Become an Editor" forum, there is a thread FAQ and General Advice with lots of basic information. I suggest you read that and maybe some of the links mentioned there and come back to this thread if some questions are still left unanswered

If you're a database programmer -- there are a number of RDF processing tools that we (as editors) or you (as surfers) could use, which seem "simple" to me (as a non-database programmer). I hesitate to suggest specifics, because they might reveal which tools we do have internally, but I suspect we don't have the best programmers in the world volunteering for us.
