Our internet service provider site provides both ADSL and Free internet access packages.
There are two different categories in the Open Directory, one for ADSL and the other for Free access.
Am I allowed to submit to both, making a total of two submissions for the same site?.
Your correct reply will be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot.
I was confused, because, I knew that I should not submit more than once but when more than one category exists, you have no clue as to what to do.

Very often, when choosing categories you run into this:

Major cat
Blue
Green
Flavor A
Flavor B
Flavor C
Red
Orange

If you make both Flavor A and Flavor C, then it is acceptable to submit to the cat that is above, in this little model: green.

Thanks for your post.
There is no category that contains both ADSL and FREE access.
These are independent categories and in this case even if you provide both, you cannot submit to both, so I understand.

Thanks alot enarra.
You are absolutely right.
I did look at this page and I felt that I should choose either ADSL or FREE.
However, I submitted my first post to get an answer and when I was told that I had to choose the best category, I did choose ADSL and submitted my site yesterday.
I guess that I have to wait for the outcome and if I get no reply after four weeks or so, I shall follow your advice and submitt to the location category you advised.
Thank you my dear.

Let's see now.
  • You're based in the UK.
  • You provide services specific to the UK market.
  • It's not economically viable for a non-UK user to sign up for your dialup services.
  • It's not possible for a non-UK user to use your broadband services.
  • A highly respected meta has told you to submit to the equivalent UK category but you're going to wait a month before doing so.
Is it me? Am I missing something here?

All correct apart from the fact that I did submit our site yesterday, based on an earlier advice, to the ADSL category.
The later advice I got from 'enarra' was a little too late to follow and what I said was that, if I don't hear anything after a month or so, enarra advice will be followed to submit to the category she advised.

There's no problem with doing it now but if you're happy to possibly delay a UK level listing, waiting a month or so is fine by us.

(Two submissions don't make you into a spammer.)

There is an (very) active editor in the Computers category, so your site was already added in the DSL category. However because of your regional focus I moved your listing to the UK category I mentioned above instead. So you're listed now, you should see the site showing up in the category in the next few days.
