I am an admin and moderator in an online forum and have just joined this forum. Yes I've read the faq before clicking the post button.

I made a submission to DMOZ and accidently gave the Title in caps, since the title is company name and we always use it in caps. Its been few days and site is not listed so I assume it got rejected because of that obvious mistake. I have read that you should wait a month before resubmitting but since im pretty sure it got rejected because of the title can I submit it again ?

Thanks,

Sunny

We routinely correct the huge majority of titles and descriptions. Poor ones don't trigger rejection.

Bottom line: There's no need to re-suggest your website.

Hi Jim and thanks for the quick reply!

Guess I'll wait few months before trying again.

I was just curious to know if flash sites are not as much prefered by dmoz.

Sunny.

We don't care if a site is Flash or not. Flash sites aren't barred from being listed.

However, if a site's home page isn't up in 20 seconds, I'll normally throw it back in the pool for somebody else with a faster connection to process at some time in the future.

Also, quite a few Flash sites suffer from mystery meat navigation. If the content isn't easily found, there's a risk that an editor might think there isn't any and act accordingly.

And don't you just hate those sites that don't have a functional skip intro link?

IMHO, Flash sites are more of an expression of the designer's ego than an aid to usability.

A more important question, that could affect profit/loss, would be whether or not surfers like Flash sites.
