I had a website listed on dmoz for years, it was listed in a tiny little backwater directory where I am starting to think there is no Editor. I closed that website and opened one that is under a new name with (mostly) the same content. I submited the change a while back and no results. The old site is still listed (even though it is no longer there) and the new site never showed up.

Any ideas on what I should do next? I really am starting to think that there is just not an editor in the tiny little directory where I was listed.

There are some 200 of us who can edit in all categories. Update requests show up prominently and most of us give them priority.

Please visit the category where your old site is listed and use the update listing link to request the change.
- If the old site is still functional, be sure that it has a manual or automatic redirect to the new.
- Avoid the temptation to request a spammy title and description at the same time. These can get shot on sight without the URL change being noticed.

Update requests

Jim,

I did as you suggeted and submitted an update request a while back, but since nothing seems to have happened I thought it was due to nobody being an editor in that directory.

I didn't leave the old site up so the old link is inop and says it is under construction and there was no spam involved.

It would be as if the old link (I'm making this up to not violate the terms here) said www.stlouisroses.com
and the new link was www.stlouisflowers.com.
I did not foreward the old site as I thought you guys called that a double submission or spam.
Rob
