L.s.,
NuRecht is a Law Shop in the Netherlands and is providing free legal advise to everyone. Within the first year that we are operating on the internet Google gave us a pagerank 4 (we started of course at 0). Within this year (from feb 2013 till now) we have asked the editor on this topic (Rechtswinkels - Dutch: http://www.dmoz.org/World/Nederlands/Maatschappij/Recht/Rechtshulp/Rechtswinkels/Nederland/ ) to add our site. But on this page it shows that the Last update was in 2007!
Does this mean that only once in 7 or more years this editor will have a look if there are new pages to add? Or does it mean that since 2007 there were no pages good enough to get listed?
Hence we didn’t get in the DMOZ database yet and on the one hand for sure weren’t impatient, we started to wonder if the administrator / editor of this topic is still active - or even - if there is any editor for this topic? Should I otherwise apply to become an editor myself? Or is it possible that the editor simply is rejecting certain websites (since 2007)? Do you think there is a reason to be suspicious here, or do you advise just to wait (we are now waiting approximately one year).
Why our website - to our believes - sh(c)ould be added tot Dmoz: We are a welfare organization (also judged as a non-profit organization by the Dutch Tax Administration) and secondly we think that by our results (Pagerank 4 - where other Dutch Law Shops with much lower page ranks are added to DMOZ) we can fairly ask you to add our website to the DMOZ - index.
Of course we don’t like to presume that the ‘editor wouldn’t be operating in good faith’ and maybe it is common that only once in 7 years (or more) certain parts of Dmoz will be updated. Two weeks ago I also tried to ask this question (as a suggestion) via http://www.dmoz.org/public/abuse, but we never got an confirmation e-mail with an ID for the submitted the report. After completing the form it keeps saying: “Go Back”. So I did and tried to send the form again, but still - after several times - no confirmation or ID.
Should we give up trying to get listed, wait still a (couple of) year(s) or just wait and see (what providence might bring us)?
We hope hearing from you. Kind regards,
NuRecht
