I am looking for a kind hearted goodwilling person to help me clear my foggy brain and upset tummy.

I had a medical website providing very useful information about digestive disorders and conditions. It has helped hundreds of people around the world to solve their digestion problems. Thanks to dmoz, my website enjoyed top 5 in searches on most engines. During the last year I have worked hard on a new one, to improve the older one, I added additional information and included many more topics. I spent hundreds of hours of medical research to optimise the new one.

Once uploaded I went to dmoz to update the links... i.e. change the links from the older one to the new one. I added the new topics as well. However, unfortunately I ended up with the old website links being completely removed and no updates taking place. There is no moderator in the Digestive Disorders sections. I am willing to be one, but I thought you may think I am cheeky since my web site is related to that topic.

Can someone help please, perhaps send me a message or advises me what to do? It is a shame my new website goes unknown.

I understand there are problems with the servers, and I believe I am not allowed to post the url's of my websites I am talking about.

Your help most appreciated.

Regards

There's nothing nothing we can do right now: nothing we can see except the public servers -- the same ones you see.

Apologies for bringing this subject back. However, I am still suffering from lack of visitors. It is a pitty since my web site that the new one replaced was a source of much information helping thousands of people around the globe. The new one has much and much more information and includes so much medical research that it would be a waste if not available.

Please may I ask for a moderator to help put my links right, as unfortunately things went very wrong when the servers went down.

I am happy to become a moderator for this section.

Cheers.

You can check the status of any URL by using our search.

Visit http://dmoz.org/
Type the domain name into the search box (just mydomain.tld . No http://www)
Hit the search button.
If it's listed, the search results will show where.

If we have the wrong URL listed, visit the category and use the update listing link. Be sure to arrange for the original to redirect to the new.

Posting here will not expedite any change. If it did, we'd be swamped.

<added> The category that I suspect you're interested in is much too large for a beginner. </added>

There's nothing wrong with applying to edit for the category in which your own website is listed. Provided you don't abuse the position if accepted. If you want to go ahead and apply to edit then I don't see why this should stop you.

Thank you for your replies, much appreciated.

I intend to apply to become an editor in the very near future, especially that now I am changing the hospital I work in and starting a new shift system that gives me ample of free time.

In the past I was an editor for Zeal (msn) before it changed hands or shut, and successfully organised and 'cleaned' the Intestinal section of the Digestive Disorders Category. I was aiming to become in charge of more sub-categories but Zeal changed hands. I am aware that the style of descriptions in dmoz is quite different than Zeal's but I am sure after reading dmoz' guidelines I will be able to move in line with dmoz'.

Once again thank you.
