If your core business has changed, go to the category where you are presently listed and submit an update request. You are not eliible for a second Regional/ listing.

Just a reminder:

When an editor moves a site (no matter the reason), the listing is forwarded to the new category to be reviewed by the editor there, which removes it from the original category.

This means that, unless the editor has privileges in both categories, there may be a period of time where the site is gone from the old category, but not yet reviewed/listed by the editor in the new category.

I only mention this because I have seen panicked questions from submitters who, after requesting a move, find that their site "IS GONE!" from the ODP.

Could you please advise me how they got placed in all those categories?
I'm afraid we can't - we have editorial work to do. Editors have the discretion to deep link a website if they see fit. No webmaster can demand or reasonably expect their site to be deeplinked also.

If you think there's been editorial abuse, by all means report it with some hard evidence. Perceived unfairness is not abuse.

As a general rule, you need to take a less one-dimensional approach to the universe. Bradys and Mbendi were not listed just because they were your competitors--in fact, it is extremely unlikely that the editor who listed them even knew that you existed at the time (even if you did). There must have been some other reason to list them at the time.

That was when there were fewer sites to choose from. And ... basically we don't ask how many times to list a site. So there's no way we could answer that question -- it simply has nothing to do with building a directory. We ask only what deeplinks (of all sites) should be listed in a specific category. So your basic question is meaningless on EVERY level.

I wouldn't out it that way. Our guidelines do not prevent multi listing. They only tell you not to suggest a site multiple times.

But if your site is a good directory with a lot of unique content you might suggest it in http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Directories/World/ . We allow one suggestion in Regional and one suggestion in a topical category (presuming your site fits in both categories - not all sites are listable in both regional and topical)
