I represent Resistance Wires Ltd - Our website is http://www.resistancewires.co.uk/ . We are a respectable UK company trying to get a listing in the directory at

http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Cable_and_Wire/

I submitted several months ago and I have just tried again. What is our status and can I contact the Editor directly?

Please advise on how we can get listed. I am sure I am submitting to the correct category.

About a month ago, a duplicate submission was deleted from Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Cable_and_Wire leaving one for review either in that category or in Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services (the notes are not clear on that point).

Please do not resubmit again unless you are specifically told to do so by an editor in this forum.

You are more than welcome to contact an editor directly, just don't expect a response and editors are strongly discouraged from entering into that type of correspondence.

It reads...

Resistance Wires Ltd - Manufacturer of resistance wire and ribbon, specialising in nicrome and nickel chrome alloy wire. Includes wire specifications and resistance calculator.

But when you search for our company name 'Resistance Wires Ltd' we do not appear. However if you search for 'The Westminster Wire Factory Ltd' or other companies, they always appear on the search results.

What is the reason we do not appear on any search terms related to what we do?

Further to my last post, I have checked it out. Out of all the companies listed in the following category, if you do a straight search on their company name, you get their website somewhere in the result listings (usually the only one).

However when you search for us 'Resistance Wires Ltd' or 'Resistance Wires' you get nothing. The only other website like this is 'Alloy Wire International Ltd'

Why when you search on these two companies do you not get their listing but on all the others, the companies website appears in the search listing on a straight search of company name?

It seems to be a little lazy these days, and has not caught up to new sites added in late May and June. Generally it's about a week behind.

Yep, someone (and I'm not mentioning any names here ) has been scurrying around behind the walls of the search engine and has nibbled on a wire or two, so search of late has been erratic at best.

OK, lets be honest, he hasn't ever been paid, and went on summer vacation. And his feelings got hurt since everyone said the Google search was better.
