I am trying to find out if I will ever be reinstated as an editor. I am not sure if my reinstatement request has been received, or if it has, whether or not my request will be granted. I have tried to find out how long it would be for the reinstatement process to take, but everything leads me back to the reinstatement form which only says, "Your application is under reviewing, please pay a little patience, thank you." -The grammatical errors alone make me wonder if the reinstatement system is even being monitored. The system does not indicate if my request is at the top middle or bottom of the queue. It also doesn't indicate whether or not it is moved to the bottom of the queue if I send another request. I would hate to be perpetually last in line due to my attempts to submit my request.
Since I first submitted my request for reinstatement in September 2010, I have tried being patient, but I fear my request is lost in the system. It's now February, and I have not heard anything one way or another. I still have access to my previous email. I just want to get back to editing my assigned category, but no one seems to be aware of my reinstatement request. I am a little frustrated with the process. I understand the editors and staff are like me, volunteers, but surely in five months someone can review my request to be reinstated? I mean, I was booted after four months of not editing... I wonder if the "reinstatement editor" got booted?
I was told by a Meta Editor back in November that, "Your request is still awaiting evaluation by a volunteer meta editor - many
of whom are deeply involved in the introduction of new back end software. It's 6 months since you last edited. Surely another few weeks aren't a problem ." Did he mean months?
I was told by another Editor that, "part of the problem may be that dmoz.org has been in the process of a software upgrade and for a while some functions haven't been working correctly."
I would really like to know what's going on with my request for reinstatement. Can anyone offer anything? Is there anyone here who has ever been reinstated? How long did it take?
Thanks
