Well, According to our logs (you didn't say us where you submitted), a lot of dupes were removed from Arts/Visual_Arts/Galleries, so in the large backlog of that category, one copy is still waiting.

Yes. At least a dozen copies into at least 3 different categories - don't worry about it, a lot were from before the automatic overwrite went into operation. Currently if you resubmit to the same category it overwrites the previous suggestion. It used to leave thenm all sitting side by side.

A very valid statement made the other day was that 2 hours is short, 2 years is long, anything else is normal.

Is there any way to speed up this process? What can I do?

Sorry but there is nothing you can do to speed up the process. You just have to wait.
