http://www.marketingtool.com submission status?

Hi folks,

I am emailing to request the submission status of Marketingtool.com. At several points over the past 1-2 years I've requested it's inclusion at:

http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Resources/Directories/

I believe the site may be banned. If so, is it possible to determine the reason? I'm willing to take any corrective action necessary.

In the mean-time, I'm downloading the 276mb compressed rdf file. I'll be combing through it to make sure you don't have my site listed with its old domain name (which I imagine would violate the terms of dmoz). I'm going this route because I'm nearly certain that the dmoz.org url search isn't working (it only returns internal url results).

If I find multiple listings, what is the protocol for requesting duplicate removal? Because my site is a geographic directory for various marketing-oriented vendors, a long time ago it had accumulated up to 20 links in various dmoz.org regional business directories (illinois ... web design, hawaii ... web design etc). Originally when those dupes were all removed during the big reorganization it seems that all links to Marketingtool.com were removed as well.

Ideally, with some work on my part, I'd like to get just one listing to Marketingtool.com in the appropriate category mentioned above. I'm willing to do everything that is required to make sure this happens.

Thanks!

Sean.

Proper URL is http://www.marketingtool.com

Sorry for the earlier omission - I neglected to read the instructions prior to my original post.

I also searched the content.rdf file and located the listing that should be removed:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...Internet/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/

The url http://www.digitalspinner.com/channel/webfirm/b.435.g.15.html with the title "Web Designer Directory" should be removed.

Let me know if there is anything else that I need to do in order for dmoz.org to accept my listing request.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Most recently (several months ago but it's hard to know because I didn't receive an email acknowledgement I can track) I submitted http://www.marketingtool.com to:

http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Resources/Directories/

That's the most appropriate category. If I submitted it to http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/ long ago then that request should be deleted.

I downloaded the entire 700 megabyte compressed content.rdf file, and searched it to make sure Marketingtool.com wasn't already listed somewhere else.

In the future, if I should ever get more than one listing in DMOZ I'll submit a request to delete them... Once I am able to get back into dmoz.org I don't want to ever risk getting kicked out again :) Please tell me what else I can do to make sure my site eventually gets reviewed and included in the above directory.

FYI -- the rdf won't have all the places you submitted and it's still waiting. Or the places you siubmitted and the submissions deleted. Only the places you are listed publicly.

No, we have no way of doing that [I wish we did], that's we keep having to insist that everyone tells us the categories.

http://www.marketingtool.com submission status?

Hi folks,

On 5/3/04 I asked about the update status of http://www.marketingtool.com. Can someone confirm the existence of a submission request in the following category:

http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Resources/Directories/

Thanks. BTW, for what it's worth, I was recently added to the Yahoo Directory at:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_E...king/Internet_and_World_Wide_Web/Directories/

I mention this only as an example of at least one human being reviewing my web site and acknowledging its value to users :) Anyone visiting Marketingtool.com will be able to see how active and useful it is, and how vibrant.

Cheers!

Sean.

We have changed the rules with regards to follow-up status requests.

You are next eligible for a status check after December 5.
