Depends. In most cases, the entries have been listed by different editors, which kind of makes it obviouis that it's okay. The reasons include the following, and probably a few I don't remember right now. Some of them are also mentioned on the
Site Specific Guidelines page.
a) Multilingual sites
b) Sites with a wealth of deeplinkable content (like wikipedia)
c) sites which cover multiple, totally different topics
d) sites listed in [several] areas with very little available sites
e) sites listed in areas, where we do have a policy of deeplinking. Like films, actors, and stuff.
f) hosting domains like geocities.com
g) sites duallisted in a topical and a regional section of the directory
If you should find a site with very low content
and lots of listings, feel free to
file a report with the details. [Note: "Lots" is not "two" or "three".]
Some sites have 100's of listings
Actually, sites like Wikipedia have
more than 10k listings. Due to lots of editors deciding that the site is one of the largest free collections of wisdom, not due to some kind of abuse. So please emember that in most cases, multiple listings are not abuse.
