Hi!
We submitted our used computer/laptop site http://www.microstar.net about a month ago to the following category;
Top: Computers: Hardware: Retailers: M

I know Dmoz have been having some hardware updates lately, but can anyone please tell me what kind of timeframe I should be looking at to get this submitted?

Also see various submissions dating back to Dec 02 to at least four other categories.

Please do not continually submit to inappropriate categories, this will possibly delay the reviewing process and possibly putting an improper tag on the URL.

Wait at least a month before asking again.

Thanks Raggedy, That's all I needed to know, I had an employee that was subitting to incorrect cats. I'll be patient and just chect it in another month.

No problem, we've been on the net for 7 years without dmoz and a few more months wait is not a big deal. It seems everybody is always busy these days with either personal or business matters, so I want to commend all of the volunteer editors on ODP for taking the time out of their own busy schedule to do the job they do.

If you are familiar with the Tampa area, I know Florida is always looking for new editors. (Submissions role in amazingly fast there.) Perhaps you would consider applying to become an editor? A smallish (<50 site) subcat like Arts_and_Entertainment or Recreation_and_Sports or one of the Business_and_Economy subcats would be a good starting place.

I have waited yet another month for a status on www.microstar.net, please tell me the status of when we may listed. The two categories we are submitting to are as follows;

I have an employee who wants to be an editor for the Tampa regional category, he has sent his application and numerous emails and has heard nothing back.

Your employee should have heard at least a confirmation email. Once you apply to be an editor you get an email saying you need to reply to it leaving the subject field unchanged. This will confirm you gave them a correct email address on the application. After replying you should get a message saying the application was recieved and you will need to wait until it gets reviewed. If your employee didn't get any type of responce from the ODP then you should advise him to apply again.

I'm not sure why your employee hasn't heard anything. Your employee can inquire at the Becoming an Editor forum here.

As for your site, it's still waiting in both places. The good news is that there aren't a lot of other sites waiting in either place. Of course, everything is relative. To say there are fewer than 50 sites waiting in M isn't saying a whole lot, since there are 26 letters in the alphabet.

Still, I would expect it to be listed in the Tampa cat very soon. (No promises though.)

Can someone please check the status?, also, my employee that wants to become an editor has been trying over 2 months to become an editor, either site is down or no-one replies to his many requests.

I'm afraid there has been no change. Your site is still waiting for review in both categories.

Re. your employee, there have been problems over the past few months related to some upgrades. Has your employee tried asking about the applications in the Becoming an editor forum, as previously suggested? He or she could get much more information about the application there.

I can expect a bit of a wait in the retailer but it's been 3 months await in regional (which normally is quicker), is there more of a handfull to be reviewed in regional cat?

No, it's waiting in an extremely small pool there.

Unfortunately, although the waits in Regional/ are often shorter, actual times for review for any particular site are impossible to predict.
