Mindvault site listed in the wrong category

C

crisscross

My site, www.mindvault.com.my is currently wrongly listed in "Top: Regional: Asia: Malaysia: States: Federal Territories: Localities: Kuala Lumpur: Business and Economy: Internet".

We are an Intellectual Property Consultancy and should be listed in the following category:-

Top: Society: Law: Services:Intellectual_Property

with the following description:-

Mindvault - Intellectual Property Consultants based in Malaysia advising on the strategic management and commercialization of intellectual assets such as patents, copyright, trademarks, industrial designs, trade secrets and confidential information.

How do I get it moved to the right category and how do I change the description?

Thanks in advance!

If you have both locally-relevant (like a business address) and globally-relevant (like general information or international services or delivery) content then you are entitled to both a topical and a regional listing.

For the topical listing please submit the site fresh to the category you think is the best fit for your site. If you feel that your regional listing is wrong and you want it removed or moved to a different category then go to the regional category and click the update URL button, then follow the instructions.

I think you are misunderstanding the way DMOZ categorises sites.

You are correctly listed at the moment from a Regional point of view as that is where your company is based. (Regional relates to all sites under the http://dmoz.org/Regional part of the directory.)

However
You may also have a Topical listing, independent of the Regional listing, provided your site meets the listing requirements for the particular category.

If you believe it's best fit is http://dmoz.org/Society/Law/Services/Intellectual_Property/ then you should submit to that category (I'd try a shorter description as well), and come back and ask for status in this thread after at least a month from submission.

I can tell you it has only been looked at by a Regional editor at this stage, so if you have submitted it elsewhere it has not yet been looked at. If, in fact, you have already submitted it to Society, do not resubmit, as it will over write the existing submission - moving it to the bottom of the queue *if* sorted by date.

Good luck with your submission
