Dear Reader,

In Holland and Belgium there are two words for present (gift), that is to say: kado and cadeau. Kado is the word according to new spelling rules and cadeau represents the "old" traditional way to spell this word.

Now, half of the searching population in Holland that look for gifts on the web uses the word "cadeau". The other half uses "Kado".

What I did is claim two domains: www.kraamkado-sorprentas.com and www.kraamcadeau-sorprentas.com. So one with the name "cadeau" and the other with the name "kado".

Because it is not allowed to register mirror sites at DMOZ, I wonder if DMOZ would see my two domain names as mirror sites. For indeed, the content is practically the same!

Thank you very much for your reply.

Best regards,

Alphons Gerritsen

Thanks for asking. Yes we would consider them equivalent content mirrors and only one could be accepted.

Although of no concern to us here, you'll also find that Google will take exception to you having two similar sites. Unless you redirect one domain over to the one version that you really want to use, you'll end up with all sorts of problems.

Alphons, as one of the editors in World/Nederlands I have an extra tip for you. Neither of these 2 sites will be listed. They are both mirrors of a 3th site. As the owner of all 3 sites I guess you will know which 3th site I mean. Suggesting these 2 sites is against DMOZ guidelines and could be seen as spam.
