I fully understand how it may seem confusing but surely the the editors who review these sites MUST take a broader view and look at the content of the site itself, it's aims and it's benefit to people and businesses, children, artists and schools around the world.
Fairies World is a NON profit making web site.
It is the dream of one man with the means at his disposal to provide a service to fantasy artists around the world without thought of profit or monetary reward.
Fairies World is currently the subject of Radio interviews and a Television programmes. It is also the source of information for 5 main publishers both here in the UK, the USA and Italy for information regarding fantasy art and artists. (Including Chrysalis Books in London and a top publisher in the USA.)
This is for books promoting the art of fairies and giving otherwise unknown talented artists the opportunity to have their work published FREE of CHARGE.
A previous posting from you says they are listed under Fairy Shop for Fairies World.
Incorrect - A search of ODP for Fairies World DOES NOT return a result for Fairies World or The Fairy Shop.
NOWHERE on our sites (except in one or two instances in the Fairy Shop) are there banners, annoying advertsisng pop-ups, bad language, poor presentation or any reference to derogatory or unrelated information.
Every site, which has it's own subject matter relating to the world of fantasy art, faries and fairy related literature, paintings and art, is for the benefit of the people and the children of this world especially in assisting with their schooling and examinations.
As an example of the commitment of the owner please read the following:
A number of web sites have been set up for many fantasy artist who do not have there own, completely free of charge, providing them with a way of promoting their own artistic skills.
Sites include a children's fairy site where they can print many black and white drawings for colouring.
This site has been the subject of approach by many schools both here and in the USA and Europe requesting permission to use the drawings for school work. This permission has always of course been granted.
EVERY site is safe for children of all ages and the owner has NEVER in the three years since the original web site was created received a critical or bad repsonse from a huge following.
Quite the reverse, the owner recieves mutiple letters and e-mails from parents, children and school teachers praising the web sites and the information they offer.
How can the ODP justify removing what is considered by most people to be one of the most important web sites regarding fantasy and fairy information, fairy artists and fairy pictures from their directory?
Both the owner and I see the refusal of the ODP to list Fairies World in their directory as being short sighted and immovable regarding their policy.
We are of the opinion that it certainly does not contravene that policy
The ODP are, in our and our clients opinion thereby depriving thier visitors of the most important result for a search for fairies.
Certainly the guidelines laid down for listings need to be in place but to extend those guideleines to refusing Fairies World a listing is a loss for the ODP and their visitors, not a loss for Fairies World.
