Hi,

I have just had my website CampusGrind.com listed to Shopping/Publications/Books/Used_and_Rare/Textbooks/

We have added a marketplace to the site making it now a "Free Classifieds" page.
What do I have to do to move the page to the category Shopping/Classifieds/Free_Classifieds/ ?

Thank you,
Gregory

It depends.

What is the content of the majority of the website? If it is mostly used texbooks and now has a classified advertising element, it probably won't get moved. If it is predomiantly free classifieds, and it has a tremendous amount of htem (enough to make the average server go, "Ok, like, wow, man" then go to the category where it is presently listed and submit an update request -- for reason indicate that the content has changed.

Understand that if the move makes sense to us, it will probably involve delisting you from where you are, and putting you into the pool of submission for the category you seek, and you may have to wait quite some time before you get reviewed again.

Perhaps you've missed this, from spectregunner's post:

is that what happened?

I haven't submitted anywhere new... has maybe an editor decide to move it to another category?

Greg.

Again, we are constrained from addressing your specific site, but in general terms, that is the kind of thing that often happens, particularly with fairly newly listed sites. An editor will put it in one category, and a few days later have second thought and either move it to another category (if they have the correct permissions) or move it to the different pool of submissions.

Classified ad sites have a fairly steep hill to climb in terms of content. Again, broadly speaking, we are looking for hundreds, perhaps thousands of listings before we can give a site serious consideration. Certainly there are exceptions, a classified ad site that only deals in reconditioned Panda Bear pelts, might have a lower threshold. Then again, it might not. I still haven't looked at your site, but if you and not overflowing in textbook-related classified ads -- to the point where a surfer would have an abundance of options, then you've probably not met the threshold for a listing.
