Moving website to more appropriate category

I

ian_s

Hello,

2 months ago I requested to have the website http://www.forkdesign.com.au moved from :

Top: Regional: Oceania: Australia: New South Wales: Localities: K: Kincumber: Business and Economy: Internet (1).

to a more appropriate category such as:

Top: Regional: Oceania: Australia: New South Wales: Regions: Greater Sydney: Business and Economy: Internet: Web Design and Development

or

Top: Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Designers: Full Service: F

No change has been made and I was wondering if it will be changed?

Thank you.

Re: Moving website to more appropriate categorie

This is not the forum to ask about this. An update URL request is just like a submission. You can check the status of your Update URL request in the Site Submission status forum. Please make sure you read that forum's guidelines for instructions on how to format your status request. You need to provide clickable links to the dmoz.org categories you mention and the url of the site is supposed to be the subject.

I will not comment on the specifics of the site, but instead make some general comments.

In the "Regional" part of the ODP, most types of businesses (including yours) are listed according the physical location of their office, and not the area they serve. if there is no obvious physical location on the site, then it is not listable in the Regional part. So if your office is in Kincumber, that is where it will be listed.

Now, a site like yours would be often quite appropriate to list in the Computers category as well as the current listing in Regional. To do this you would need ot make a submission to the corresponding category.

Hope this helps.
