My site seems to have been deleted . I am not sure but I think it was in Top: Shopping: Clothing: Children's: Boys
The sites emphasis is boys suits, blazers and coats, it could be interpreted as communion suits but I think the above is the best place for it.

Your site was removed from Shopping since it does not meet the guidelines for Shopping. Read very carefully in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/ Description and FAQ

It is listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...oklyn/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Clothing/

Even when I read the rules I did not put two and two together.

What if I stop the forwarding of www.natanborlams.com to boysitaliansuits.com?
Can I then have boysitaliansuits.com reevaluated?[

I have discontinued the forwarding from natanborlams.com to boysitaliansuits.com, it will probably take a day or two to take effect.

As you might realize, it was inadvertant, but a violation of the rules. It is being stopped.
Any other ideas so I might be reevaluated?

I think it was an error. The Shopping branch is for Shopping sites, and the site at first glance is not obviously a Shopping site. It also has content appropriate for Regional, and that was more apparent at the time of re-review. Give the category a chance to refresh and reflect the correction.

OK, I am starting to understand what happened.
I was listed in a regional, that caused me to be in violation of a rule or perhaps it was just reevaluated and seem more local.
I have asked that my local listing be deleted and have my shopping be reconsidered. I hope that works.

I think bobrat either went off line or stopped answering because my replies were sloppy and made no sense,

IMO the site qualifies for both Regional and Shopping.

Can you do me a favor and see if you can fix the spelling of the word "its" in the title of this thread? Sorry but it's driving me nuts. :)

By the way, Thanks for your help, I could sure use it.
It is a pretty bad feeling falling off a pedestal, I was number one or so at google (for my search words boys suits) for about 18 months and things just unraveled, starting with a 2 day outage caused by my host during a period that google was spidering and a few other snafus.

The response and the correction have nothing to do with your ranking on any search engine. We just want to build a correct and comprehensive directory. :)

I think I did the correction properly.

In the first post, but not in the title. Oh well, maybe that's not doable. Thanks for trying. :)

I see that actually I did not, but as you did note, at least I tried.

I still do not understand, can I be listed as regional and in shopping... ? I assume the answer is no.
By the way, it seems as though some search engines do consider DMOZ in their ranking. I do not feel it is wrong to want the listing because my website is treated like my child; it gets loving attention daily and I do not misrepresent. It is actually a thrill to have a stranger email from thousands of miles away and thank us for a fine product.
If I do not respond to further emails it will be because I am going off line soon.
Thanks

The answer is sometimes yes. If you have a retail outlet in addition to the online sales, that greatly increased your chances of having a listing in both.

It is possible that ODP listings do affect ranking...but from our perspective it doesn't matter. We just worry about our directory, not how others are applying our information.

Sites can be listed in both topical and regional--provided they qualify for each place. One listing does not affect the other. Actually, listing in both is encouraged (again, if the site meets the criteria of both areas).

Some sites are listed in both Regional and Shopping. The criteria are in the top-level Regional and Shopping charters. Your site may be considered for both places, but that doesn't mean it will be listed in either or both -- that will be the editors' judgment. (And the editors are still judging.)

As for your Google rank, remember when you're trying to persuade us to do something that we love each of your competitors twice as much as we love you...and we'd be perfectly happy for all of them to appear above you in the search results.

OK,
I realize that mentioning rankings in search engines was not a nice or correct thing to do. I apologize to each and every person that took offense.
It is more of a personal pride thing, I considered the shopping listing as recognition of a serious effort to maintain a website and take the responsibility seriously. I believe every inquiry was handled well and we tried to have every ecommerce client email us to exclaim how satisfied they were.
Many actually did so.
