Hello,

I had several listings in dmoz for many years, my site is pretty big and has some very specific areas which is why it had multiple listings, but I noticed today that every listing was removed. Is there a way for me to find out what happend?

Thanks in advance-

Not here there isn't.

Best thing to do is study our submission guidelines and this section of our editor guidelines and determine whether or not your site is the kind of thing that we list these days.

If it isn't, you probably have your reason right there.

If it is, there are lots of possible reasons:
- The site went down for a while and is awaiting re-evaluation.
- The listing is in transit to a more appropriate category.
- etc etc.

We don't completely remove listings from the directory for no reason at all. We're trying to grow it, not shrink it.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick answer! Well I read the editor and submission guidelines just to make sure and I'm fairly postive that is not the reason.

I had several very specific listings so they were (I believe) already in the most appropriate categories, plus they wouldn't all be in transit...

I work on my site everyday and I have not noticed that it was down - but it is possible that it was down for a short period of time. If that is the case how long before a re-evaluation? I checked my logs and my listings were removed over a month ago. ?

Code:
Not here there isn't.

Is there somewhere else?

Thanks again in advance-

avacado,

I think it is still possible your listing/s are caught in some shuffle of categories. If so, the eds doing the shuffle would likely relist you. Give it a few days or so and see.

Thanks The Old Sarge. I sure hope your're right. It's been over a month already - I just noticed it yesterday.

Anything else I can/should do?

By all means look, but if you disclose that information to a third party, it's an offence against our communications guidelines. By doing so, you would put your editor account at grave risk.

Don't forget that everything here and in ODP is logged :D.
