Hi,

I tried to submit my website a couple of months ago in the category of weddings > destination weddings > Caribbean

During this time I was doing major upgrades to my site and didn't realize that my programmer changed the entire site to http:// without the www. When I submitted to dmoz I'm now not sure if I used the url with www or without. Will this impact my acceptance into the directory if you now see a 301 re-direct (which I had to do) from the www to the no www?

If this is the case, I would like to re-submit with the proper url but I don't want to get penalized or look like a spammer. At the same time I have no way of confirming which I submitted - as I never knew there was even a difference between the two and dmoz doesn't send a confirmation email.

Would love to know what to do.

Thank you.:)

We don't obsess about wwws. We'll happily list a site with or without.

By all means suggest your website again to the same category.

www

Thanks for your quick reply Jim.

I think the only thing that worries me is I don't know if I suggested my site before the change in url or after and there's no way for me to check or confirm.

I just don't want to ruin my chances....i'm nervous now as I don't know what's in the system. :(

Don't worry. Just suggest it once more with the url as it is now working. This will have no effect on the review process.

I also advise you to tell your programmer to make your website availbale both with and without the www. Not for DMOZ but for yuur potential visitors. It would be a shame if they were not able to find your site just because your programmer messed up.

Thanks

Thank you too for your quick reply.

I will re-submit. We now have a 301 re-direct so all of my old links now go to the home page. Was a bit of drama before but hopefully I've got it set up correctly now.

submitted again

I did the re-submission.

It was probably a good thing, because from the looks of it I didn't enter my Title properly the first time and now I have done it correctly (I hope).

Thanks again for the quick reply.
