Hello All

I have listed my company website <no urls please> in DMOZ.COM open directory long time ago in following category.
Our company website provide news and information from Digital Signage & DOOH industry for that we have collaborated with allt he related companies to provide their new product release, pres release and services.

http://www.dmoz.org/...News_and_Media/
I have no idea why its taking so much time and if any members can tell the reason why its not listed?

At least i can try to solve the issue if i know what has to be done from my side to get listed properly. I have followed the instruction provided in DMOZ.

Please any one here in this forum to help me?

Regards

Technicaly that is impossible. Only editors can list websites in the directory.
I assume you ment "I have suggested a website"

> I have no idea why its taking so much time
Time between suggestion can vary between a few days to several years. And noone can predict when and by which editor a suggestion will be reviewed.

> and if any members can tell the reason why its not listed?
There are 2 possibilities.
Most probable it has not been reviewed yet.
Or it could be a type of website that is not listed in DMOZ. This is something you can verify yourself by reading the guidelines at http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html#notinclude

> At least i can try to solve the issue if i know what has to be done from my side to get listed properly.
There is nothing to solve and nothing you can do.
If it is waiting review you will have to wait until an editor will review the suggested website. And as I already wrote when that will be is something nobody knows.
If it is a type of website DMOZ does not want to list there is also nothing that can be done.

Ok, and that is all you can do. We thank you for the suggestion you made.

Reading other threads would have told you :).

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

<rhetorical> Why did you ignore the submission guidelines that you agreed and suggest your website several times to two different categories? It was completely unnecessary, wasted your time and will eventually waste ours because each one will need to be processed. This contributes to a process slow down for everybody so don't do it again.

I've pointed your DigitalPoint thread to here because there's no point discussing the same thing in several different places.
