Sorry, status checks are no longer provided in these forums. You can read the reasons in the sticky at the top of the forum threads.

>Could you guys please let me know why my website is not listed.

It either hasn't been reviewed yet, or when it was reviewed, there wasn't enough unique information to warrant a listing. I don't know without checking (and we no longer provide that information.)

>I have received no information regarding the status of the application. Can anyone tell me when I know the status of the application.

We no longer provide that information. If you'll think about it, you'll realize there's not really anthing you can DO with the information -- well, anything honest, at least: you could always start badgering the editors, but we don't want to encourage that.

'human is better'...not necessarily so...

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I'm having the same problem...months have gone by and still no sign of life. Not sure what to do next. I actually wouldn't mind contacting an editor. Does anyone know the editor responsible for the Society-Relationships-Romance-Ideas and Tips category?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

All the best,
Julia

We no longer give status checks, and we strongly discourage individual editors from entering into that type of discussion with submitters for two very improtant reasons:

1. Editors have been put in danger by such discussions.
2. Engaging that this type of disucussion suggests that we are somehow obligated to look at suggested sites wihtin a given timeframe; which we are not.

If you have submitted your site once to the single best category, then you have done all that you can do, and there is no need to do anything else.

There is never an editor "responsible" for any category. There are many (hundreds of) editors with "permission" to edit any particular category. Most of those also have permissions to edit many (hundreds of thousands of) other categories.

A letter to the editor for that purpose is not recommended. Whom would you write to? And what imaginable barrier to editing would your letter address?

But, more important than anything else, consider the basic bedrock principle of courtesy that your mother drilled into you before you were allowed in kindergarten: What would the world be like if everyone acted like that?

[Aside: in the light of this critical question, the common assertion that "I wrote politely to editors asking for special privileges for my website" rings hollow, with reverberating echoes of self-delusion. There is no polite way to ask for a gift! And there is no polite manner to make an impolite request!
