Site www.myjewelz.com

I have submitted this site ( www.myjewelz.com ) 1 year back but no response from Dmoz.

Dont you think Dmoz will lose relevance if they stall even medium level sites and only pick the top of the crop

You should not expect any response other than an eventual listing if your site meets the guidelines at the time of review. The FAQ at the top of the page explains how long that might take.

DMOZ has no concept of medium level/top level - only sufficient unique content/insufficient unique content.

I can't imagine that site would EVER be "medium-level". On the contrary, in the most cursory examination, at least four red flags say, independently, that it almost certainly isn't listable at all.

However that may be, the ODP doesn't "stall" any sites, even "low-level" ones. All sites are eligible for review from the moment they go online. This has nothing whatsoever to do with whether they are ever suggested or not.

And the ODP's relevance to OUR customers is not based on sites that are not listed, but on the presence of categories that provide enough sites to be useful (whether or not there are other sites out there.) You are welcome to decide (on whatever grounds you wish) whether you want to be an ODP user, and whether it has relevance to you.

I've spent a number of years learning to spot patterns that strongly indicate spam or scam is involved. Anyone may can get the same experience, in the same way--look at a hundred thousand or so sites, and try to spot the ones that are genuine. (You may, of course, spot a different set of patterns than I did.)

But the red flags _I_ saw went far beyond submittal issues -- after all, a perfectly legitimate company may be victimized by a sleazy SERP perp who commits spam submittals.

And yes, a sufficiently clever spammer with a good memory for what he said yesterday, could have hidden all the flags I found. So I really don't want to tell people where I look.
