Need advice on meta tag theft.

Hello,

I have just found out that a compeitors site is using my site name in their meta tags to try and take advantage of my position and good reputation. Is there anything ZI can do to put an end to this?

This isn't the forum for that kind of thing since it has nothing to do with the ODP. You might want to post in webmasterworld.com or searchengineforums.com .

I will try the other forums you mentioned. I only thought it would be relevant as this is what the directories use to match the site with the search terms.

The ODP doesn't do anything with the meta tags, especially when it comes to searching at http://dmoz.org. Google might but that's a Google thing, not an ODP thing.

It looks like you need to instigate a law suit against your competitor. Assuming your name is a recognised trade mark, you'll have no problems winning. Unfortunately we can't help you with that either.

If it's in the keyword tag then Google won't take any notice of it anyway.
