Hi, everyone.

I want to submit my website, and I need some suggestion on the category that it should be put in.
The main function of my website is to helps cross-cultural couples to communicate.

We have translation (for lovers)/ live interpretation (for lovers)/ cross-cultural Counseling.

Here's a list of the categories that I find are good to put it.
Society/Relationships
Business/translation (here could be many since we have more than one language)
Regional/Thailand
Regional/China

Which one would you recommend?
Just make sure that one site can only be listed in one category/once right?

xie xie (Thanks in Chinese :)

We can't give you specific advice because we don't discuss individual websites here. From what you say, somewhere in Society/Relationships is probably best.

Hi, me again.

I posted a thread on category suggestion for my website early.
My site helps cross-cultural couples to communicate. It has translation (for lovers)/ live interpretation(for lovers)/ cross-cultural Counseling. And I listed a few categories that looked good.
Jimnoble kindly replied to me that Society/Relationships could be a good choice(thank you :). So I tried to submit under Society/Relationships, but as I tried to submit my website I find that there isn't really a category for it. Among all the dating/marriage/ romance/..ect...I checked all the possible ones, but no one would really work. So I turn back to Business/translation. Then there's another challenge, one site can be submitted once only (if I'm correct), while we have Chinese and Thai services right now, and they play equal importance. I think we'll have more languages later.

My main aim here is to find a proper category for my website.
Ideally it would be nice to put it under something indicating "International love" or "Cross-Cultural love" .

For translation websites in general, they usually deal with more than one language, how do you decide their category? Do they get listed more than once?
I'm new in the forum, don't know much about the rules, but this is my kind wish.

With respect

We only create a new category after internal discussion and when we can show that there is a significant number of websites to be listed there.

When a website has versions in more than one language (not machine translations), it can be listed once in each relevant World category. Translation tools don't count. It's the website itself that matters.

It's really helpful if you can keep the conversation to a single thread. Threads merged.

Sorry, I thought it would be helpful to other people who have the same questions by separate the questions.
No problem I will follow the rules.

I see, here I would like to propose for a category of "Cross-Cultural Relationship". Please consider if it worth having on DMOZ.
The translation service on my website is done by human, we don't do machine translation.
If the times of the website being listed is depended on the version of site, then we have English version only for now.

The part I'm still not clear about is that for Multi-language translation sites, how do you decide which category shall they belong to?
e.g. a site that does Thai, Chinese, Japanese --English translation, if it want to submit under translation, how do you choose for the last step: Business/ Translation/ Asian/ (Thai? Chinese? Japanese?), and some sites do trans-continental translation. How does that work?

It is very easy. We have a category for multiple languages
http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Communications/Translation/Multiple_Language/
Sites are listed in one of its subcategories according to the locality (domicile) of the translator or agency.
