I have submitted my site several months back but not had any luck in getting the site listed. A company which I was involved with previously, but now compete against, is entirely capable to constantly submit my site on my behalf. Is there any protection against this? <Url removed>

Your URL was borked by the forum software. Tell us again please - perhaps without the http://www.

In general though, listable websites can take from a day to several years to be listed. That's the nature of a volunteer edited directory. We don't force editors to work at a pace set by webmasters.

The scenario you speak of is so rare that I've never seen it. I'd say you're more likely to be killed by a falling giraffe.

The most likely situation is that we just haven't got around to looking at it yet.

<url removed> is the URL. Thanks for your reply, any assistance will be greatly appreciated. In addition to a specific competitor, I am also concerned about the 3 SEO companies I have worked with.

If it makes any difference, the site should have been listed under cuff links and our site specializes in cufflinks and groomsmen gifts

Thanks again.

What you are asking for is a status report. We don't do that anymore. Sorry.

There's no "getting a site listed" -- all you can do is make sure an editor could find it easily when looking for a specific kind of site. (But nobody knows exactly WHEN an editor will next look for that kind of site! -- seconds, months, years....)

If you've suggested the site, you've gone to all the trouble that can possibly help anyone.

I can not get this image out of my head. Damn you. Do you suppose it is flailing its legs or may be just enjoying the ride?

At least 90% of the time they are just tripping over spam. But you may use the quality feedback forum to report homocidal or defenestrated giraffes.

Giraffes

Jim,

Bus, giraffe collision kills seven

NAIROBI, Kenya -- A bus collided with a giraffe crossing the highway and smashed into an oncoming truck, killing seven people and injuring 10 others, police said Tuesday.

The driver lost control of the bus after striking the giraffe and veered across the road, hitting the other vehicle, police official Samuel Ongote said.

The giraffe was killed, he said. The accident occurred before dawn Monday in the town of Konza, 30 miles southeast of the capital, Nairobi. Most of the 62 passengers aboard were asleep at the time, Ongote said.

The collision was along the heavily traveled highway that links the capital with the Indian Ocean port city of Mombasa. Wild animals frequently roam the road, which passes through several large game reserves.

So, these accidents do happen. I am more convinced than ever after your comment.

I'll bet it fell also.

But ... I have actually seen (and investigated) a case of spamming other people's sites. It didn't cause a problem for the other people.
