Hello,

I run a website that deals with financial freedom and unique content. I've listed my site very early on and waited about 6 months and relisted the site in another category. The site is still not shown in DMOZ which i understand, but could someone tell me if it's at least in the queue to be reviewed at some point? I can list the name of the site if needed. thanks.

That would be a status update, which is something we no longer provide here as you can see from the notice at the top of the forum. If your site meets our listability guidelines, then you can presume that it is still awaiting review.

No, please don't. We don't provide information about specific sites here. Thanks.

It would be nice if there was an open source script developed that one could plug in the name of their site and get some feedback on their site. This would really be a plus.

We've discussed automated status enquiry systems many times in the past but, practically, they wouldn't serve any useful purpose to anybody other than the myriad directory spammers out there.

ODP isn't an open source project. The open in its name refers to the free use of its directory.

That wouldn't be a plus to me. I wouldn't ever use it, or contribute to it. I don't work with any projects that would have any connection to something like that, at least so far as I can imagine.

If you think it's important enough to write -- then write it. Then see if you can find people who could write the reviews, and aren't doing something more important (to them, of course) already. Again, the people who're involved on the projects I know about, have no shortage of useful work to do on those projects.

But you're obviously in a very different web community. Maybe that community might be interested enough to do something like this.
