Apologies if this has been asked before:
I'm a former editor whose account has expired ca. 2 years ago. I realize the ODP wants former editors to use the account reinstate form rather than the editor application form, and I don't see any reason to doubt I would be welcomed back, but:
I'm a former editor whose account has expired ca. 2 years ago. I realize the ODP wants former editors to use the account reinstate form rather than the editor application form, and I don't see any reason to doubt I would be welcomed back, but:
- I no longer like my old login name.
- The categories I had been editing either have gone or are now being managed - smoothly and competently, in my eyes - by others, so my old account's cat assignments have become meaningless anyway.
- I have lost interest in the categories I'd been editing. In fact, I feel seriously out of touch with them, so my old account's editing history now sort of misrepresents my areas of expertise.

Under these circumstances, do you think it's OK if I use the editor application form? I've seen the "have you been an ODP editor before" item, but I don't feel like being flagged as somebody who couldn't even be bothered to read the application guidelines.
