NEW editor applications and reinstatement requests

If you have been thinking of applying to be an ODP editor, but you were confused by the application form, take heart. A brand new version of the form has been rolled out. We hope it will make the process clearer for everyone. Go to http://dmoz.org/ for details.

Also, editors who resigned or had their log-ins expire now will be able to request reinstatement using a BRAND NEW reinstatement request form, at http://dmoz.org/reinstate.html

There is currently a bug in the new system. If you send an application to be an editor at the present time it is quite possible you will receive an error message and the application contents will be lost. To avoid this please save the contents your application on your own computer prior to submitting the application (this is a good idea at all times in case you pick a username which is taken, or an unacceptable password, both actions have been known to delete application contents when one hits "back" in their browser).

We will post here again when the errors in the new editor application are resolved.

Staff has just announced the problems with the new editor application forms have been corrected. If anyone still has a problem please contact one of the metas so we can report the issue to the proper people.
