Has Dmoz ever done listings pages or alike that it shows newly included sites or new categories/areas etc that are introduced a little like the new post in the forums?

No. It's not as great a need as it might be for some other sites, since dmoz publishes the RDF -- so ANYONE can pick up the whole ball and perform any kind of analysis they wish (then, if they wish, publish the analysis.)

If you see a need, you're welcome to download the RDF and try your hand at fulfilling it.

It's the entire directory, from which (if you write a program to compare it to last week's entire directory) you can find the new listings.

I should warn you that it's not a trivial exercise, I did it at one time, and was able to track changes from week to week, but I gave up as it was too time consuming. If I remember correctly, you can't simply compare to the previous week, as it may not be a new listing, but could be a change in category, or a site that was temporarily delisted and then put back in.
