Is there any information on a new design of the ODP to be made? Plain green gets dull fast, although it is a neutral color (I think that's why it was chosen though).

I'm not that fond of green, either, croatiankid, but I haven't heard anything about changing it. I like burgundy on white, myself, or blue on white, :) .

Get specific, dobariya, what is secret? Everything is right here:

Stop making general statements that are false, and that you have no facts to back up.

Added - We're patient, andrewchesshire, sooner or later he'll get to the point, :).

I'm sure there are websites that need to replace their name and facade every few weeks to escape their reputation. But I don't think dmoz.org is one of them.

Not a fan of sphagetti verdi then? :) though admittedly the green varieties of pasta only achieve a faded version of ODP green.

I'm a creature of habit, I'm not really into new cuisines that I'm unused to, or experimentation, though I have had a desire to try a little spicey cajun food, which I've never tried. Maybe I'm becoming adventurous, :D .

My poor teenager got surprised by his new girlfriends Swedish father, when he discovered the gravy that the father insisted on loading his mashed potatoes with, was actually a fish sauce, not chicken gravy. He's become very cautious about invitations to dinner, :D .

I'm sorry, croatiankid, we did get off topic. :)

Getting back on topic, the question itself is a bit irrelevant, because none of us have any control over the color scheme or design of the ODP site, I think. That's an owner decision, I would imagine.

Do you have some suggestions?

Would the owner be Netscape? Actually I was hoping more people would join in and give their opinions, but among the few who did, it seems they like the color of grass and trees, so I guess there isn't a need for a new color scheme.

Croatiankid, you remind me of the Dilbert cartoon with Catbert lying across the top of a CRT monitor: a "most excellent butt-warming device" -- although he "can't help thinking it would be better with Windows Vista."

I would expect that any redesign of the dmoz.org site would still involve the Mozzie green colour so if your biggest complaint is the colour, then you're likely out of luck.

Yeah, I like the colour - it's unobtrusive which is a big plus. I honestly have never experienced any problem with the design. In which way does it make the site less accessible?
