New sub category?

If a sub category doesn't exist but exists for other similar items is their a way to suggest it? The website I was aiming at suggesting is in a brand new market so to speak I opened the first site of its kinda in 2004 sold it privately and took a hiatus, later coming back with a better idea in the same field. There are only about 13 websites in existence who service this niche the majority of which copied my original idea back in 2004. To put this in perspective this niche has about 35 million unique documented users.

None of these sites are listed in DMOZ though and only my new one seems to have a chance at being listed because it is handled through my company (a stipulation written on the best fitting DMOZ category I did submit too) while the majority of the competing businesses are not even registered businesses.

So my real question is would this situation warrant a new sub-category?

New categories are not created to please or highlight specific interests or businesses, but only when they meet our guidelines and taxonomy needs.

Moreover, in general we don't create sub-categories for one or a few sites, but only when there are more URLs and/or it is predictable that a certain /Topic will be enriched by new contents in the short/middle term.

If a website is owned by a registered company, somekind of organization or a private person has no influence on a website being listable or not.

The best chance for a new category would be if you suggested all these sites. When we notice that there are a number of listable websites we might create the category.

Suggest all these websites to what would be the parent of your proposed new subcategory. A note added to the proposed descriptions like this [green widgets subcat?] should attract attention.

Okay I see :) it is a little confusing I was asking because how its set up now the other sites wouldn't be accepted. I was more confused and curious than anything. I understand that Dmoz is a compendium of knowledge not links. :D

For this certain category it denoted that all applicants had to be a registered business and or company. And honestly given the nature of the category I would expect as a Dmoz user that every site listed in that category was registered and accountable in some way. Thank you all very much for the info you have ALL been very helpful. :D
