newb question

i have one of those questions im embarassed to ask but here goes...
how do i contact the editor for my category?
i submitted my site months ago (over 6) and still nothing was posted where many others were posted in that time frame. i'm hoping there wasnt like a conflict of interest in posting my site ( i am a retail website for home lighting products) id like to contact the editor of "Business: Consumer Goods and Services: Home and Garden: Decor and Design: Lighting" or "Shopping: Home and Garden: Electrical: Lighting" my site will fit in both and i would just like to know what i am doing worng.
Since the forum says i shouldnt list my site name i will not but please any help would mean the world to me

It is our strong preference that you not contact any editor directly.

We encourage editors NOT to respond to queries/communication from site owners. We have found that little or no good comes from such contacts.

If you have suggested your site there is really nothing else that you can do. An editor will review it at some point, and upon review will either list it or not.

If listed the whole world will know.

I doubt it. There are certain criteria that a site has to meet in order to be listed in Shopping (see the Shopping FAQ). If it meets them, that normally makes it ineligible for a listing under Business.

makes sense... i seem to fit best in http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Electrical/Lighting/
problem is im not sure if i applied for that category. I dont want to do it twice and piss off the moderator what should i do?
i also really want to post my url simply to get any advice on if my site is good for that (with permission)

I'm confident that you already suggested your website more than once. If you suggested it to the wrong category, an editor will simply move it to the correct one. There's absolutely no point in you making further listing suggestions.

Rather than agonise over it, devote your energies to other promotional means. If an ODP listing is going to happen, it'll happen when it happens .
