Hi Everyone,

Here is the site: http://www.teething-teeth.com

Here is what happened... this was my first website and I submitted it to the ODP under the category of "teething" just over two years ago. We did not hear anything so we resubmitted to dmoz about 6 months ago... ruffly.

Since I really am a newbie to all of this, and I have heard that if your site is not picked up it's due to it not meeting the dmoz guidelines I would be grateful if someone could review our site and suggest some modifications that we may want to implement, so that our site will meet the ODP guide lines.

Also if you would not mind, would you please let me know if you think we should wait a few more months to resubmit after making the changes that you suggest?

Thanks for your time,

Sandra

Hello Sandra!

Editors cannot perform site reviews based on requests made in the forums. You must find out by yourself if a site meets the criteria listed in the guidelines; if it meets them, then nothing is wrong in your website, but it is up to the reviewer's discretion to include it or not in the category. For example, in crowded sections, a new website should "contribute something unique to the category's subject" (which is still part of the guidelines, after all).

Status updates on submission of websites are also not available anymore. Check the announcement.

I am sorry if this is not the kind of help you expected, but keep in mind that it may take longer than 6 months for a website to be reviewed!

My personal suggestion: don't rely just on the ODP to make your website popular. Always offer good services to your users, and sooner or later you will get the reward you deserve, also in terms of traffic!

Hi Monayuk

Hi Monayuk,

Thanks for that response I was concerned about spamming... I will go ahead and make another submittal to the teething category once more.

You said you suggested the site 2 years ago and again 6 months ago. It really isn't necessary to suggest it again.
