No Add URL

I have just created a chat room service on my site which I hoped to add to ODP at http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Chat/

There is no submit site option though, just an update URL. I've ran a search for my site in that part of ODP and found nothing.

Any ideas?

We turn the 'Add URL' link off from time to time (particularly in high level categories) for three main reasons:

1. The category is very general, so we don't want people to submit there.
2. The category is being re-organised, so we don't want any submissions until the re-organisation is complete.
3. The category is a 'link farm' (like the base of an alphabar) where no sites should be listed.

I don't know the specifics behind this decision so I can't really comment, but perhaps another editor may be of assistance.

Didnt know either but started digging deep in our archives to look for the reason. /images/icons/smile.gif

Fairly simple, same reason as I thought myself:

It's turned off because we don't want to list any more sites in these cat, there are appropriate subcats for all entries.

So --> Please find the appropriate subcat for your site and submit it there.
