No Editor for Category

Hello ODP People

I'm trying to get a listing editted

Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Recreation_and_Sports/Gambling/Contests_and_Sweepstakes/

as the description & link need to be changed.

However, the category no longer has an editor and things seem to be in limbo.

I have emailed Dmoz but with no joy there.

What happens in this case?

I'd happily become an editor for the category - and whilst yes I can understand there are possible issues of bias to overcome - personally I think it would be better for (1) the directory and (2) the sites listed & wanting to be listed to be in a category with an enthusiastic editor (provided they are genuine in their approach - perhaps offering references to appease the Dmoz rules) than no editor.

Although there may not appear to be an editor in that exact category, rest assured that there are many other editors with permission to edit submissions in many areas of the directory, and any editors in the Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom branch can edit listings there.

Patience is key, as all of the editors are volunteers and many really do put in as much time as they can reviewing listings. If you would like to apply to be an editor I think that would be great, make sure to read through some of the other posts here which have some great advice for new editors, and best of luck to you... I'm sure your site will be reviewed as soon as possible (along with any other sites waiting there).
