No Editor to review my URL submission

I submitted my URL <URL removed> to the free Classified ads category of DOMZ sometime ago, I checked it last week it has not being listed, I just checked again today still it has not being listed. I tried to research on the reasons and found out that there is probably no Editor to review the site. The last update for that category is was January 6th, 2011...That over a year and six months now. Please somebody help me my client is on my neck! They have suggested that site be listed on DMOZ as part of my SEO contract with them!

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

Don't you think that was a little bit stupid to write such a thing in your contract.
First of all you are relying on the acts of somebody else, somebody over which you have no control at all.
And secondly DMOZ does not guarantee a listing for suggested websites.
Seems to me that it was atleast very risky to promise a listing to your client.
Your mistake. Your problem.

hmmm :unsure:...I did not promise them, they suggested. For all I know, listing it on dmoz or not does not in anyway bridge the contract. It was never in any of the contract papers, they suggested and I wanted to help. It was clearly stated in on my post that they "suggested".

Like I said, I did be patient and thanks to you!
