After I have filled out all the information in the application to be an editor and clicked submit, this error which simply says "Not a valid parameter" comes out. I have no idea what is wrong with my application. Does anybody know why that error appeared?

I haven't heard of that specific error before, could you try to reproduce it by re-applying (I hope you kept a copy of the application, it's a useful thing to do, both for server glitches, and to refer to if the application is denied). Please post the usual information (editor name, date, category applied for - and if possible the page source of the error page - assuming it goes wrong again).
With that amount of information, we should be able to investigate the issue. :)

According to this thread the problem occurs because of the following issue:

Not exactly a fix, but a workaround: It seems that the error can arise if you use an email address which either doesn't start with a letter, or consists of only one character before the @ sign. So if you're able to try with a different email address, you may be able to get it to work. Make sure your address begins with a letter (a-z) and has a local part (the bit before the @ sign) of at least two characters.

[SOLVED] Mailbox name included literal. After changing to another one with only letters - problem was solved.

Hope - this tip will be helpfull to others.
