not found in "search" but has listing

Hi

I was searchin on a ODP (entire directory) for Mike Hirschback and the search came back as nothing found (I tried just 'hirschbach" and "Hirschbach, Mike" as well - nothing)


However, when surfing around the site to figure out where to position him, I found his link on a page
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Visual_Arts/Performance_Art/Artists/ as Hirschbach, Mike

Was wondering why it did not appear when I was searching for him?

Is this a concern or something I just haven't learned about the project yet?

ODP Search has been horribly broken of-late, I'm afraid. I don't use it any more, so I have no idea if it has been fixed yet. Based on your experiences, though, I would hazard a guess that the answer is that it hasn't....

If the new RDF from the day before yesterday is going to make it work again, then that will take a couple more days for that to happen.

If the problem is something else, then that might take a week or two or more to fix the problem; whatever it actually is found to be.

In the meantime, use the search function inside the Google Directory, as that is working but is using ODP data from three weeks ago. However it does work, and it does return relevant results.
