Not sure if I have been listed.

Hello. I am new to this and am not sure that my site has been listed. How do I know if it has and if not, how do I know what to list it under as I sell different things? Do I give you my website here or what so you will know who I am? I would really appreciate any help from you.

Try going to the Google directory page and searching there for your website without the www. Meaning dmoz.org instead of www.dmoz.org. That should let you know if it is listed or not.

Try to pick the 1 best category for your website and submit it to that.

You don't need (nor should you) to give your website here, just submit it. The editors will review it in time.

Perhaps you meant that it will let you know if it was listed the last time Google parsed the directory.

Google search is fairly good about keeping current -- on average better than ODP site search.

But, in any case, this isn't a situation where a week or two one way or another is likely to matter. A website, just like any other kind of entity, takes time (typically months or years) to build a reputation.
