I first submitted my partner's site several months ago and have heard nothing. I was concerned at the time that the site had two sections to it, and two domain names, and that you would think it was a mirror site or something... so I split the sites into two and bought a separate hosting package for the second domain and re-submitted both of them over a month ago, but I've still heard nothing. But I've just read that submitting more than one site is a bad idea. The content is constantly being developed, but they are both commercial sites, one promoting the service business one just retailing products, and don't have large chunks of info... would that prevent their inclusion?

If these are 2 domains about the same business we will (most probably) only list one. For us the rule is 1 company = 1 site = 1 listing. Splitting a site over several domains isn't a problem but you must take care of linking them together.

Thanks for your reply. There are two businesses, but they share premises. If you only list one, is it possible for me to somehow nominate which one? And should I have heard anything from ODP by now? The fact that I haven't makes me think I should resubmit.

You can suggest the url you think should be listed. But the reviewing editor can decide that the other url is the main url for this company and list that one.
We will amost never send any replies after a suggested site is reviewed.
A site can have one of the 3 status:
1) waiting review, nothing can be done by you except wait
2) accepted, you will see the site listed
3) rejected, if a site is (or will be) rejected can be checked by yourself by reading the guidelines at DMOZ. http://dmoz.org/add.html and http://dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html
