I would like to add a note. I am not blowing smoke up anybodies" you know where" But after reading several post by different editors. I noticed Hutcheson and Specregunner take the time to reply to your questions with a straight forward answer. without the sarcasms. As for the rest of ODP, I am starting to wonder is it worth the hassle to get listed.

Coming here isn't a requirement for being listed. Assuming that the site has been suggested to the one best category, it'll happen, or not, in due course; posting here doesn't affect that. Indeed, the huge majority of people who suggest their websites never do come here.

Sometimes our patience with those who ignore the forum guidelines when making a status request slips a little and that's regrettable. I guess that could be considered to be hassle by the recipient. How do you imagine the editors consider it?

It is funny how you think that. Especially since we are diff people reading the same forum.
While I agree Hutcheson gives straight forward and thorough answers(prolly some of the best). More often than not he lets the SARCASMS and insults fly. Note that he also posts a considerable amount more than some so he is bound to get a few on the edge ones.

There has gotta be a method of burnout that every Forum Editor participant goes thru--and I can understand Occasional ups and downs--that is when they need to take a break and coooool down. But more often than not the Editor doesn't break and ends up on a rampage--I've seen it many times with deleted posts/bannings and just all around name calling.

Only the Editor Knows when he is close to the breaking point and needs to know to walk away prior.

You know, gayboi, communication is a two way street. Why is it that users expect more out of the editors than they expect out of themselves? Some think editors are rude because they ask them to read the forum guidelines or FAQs or to wait the allotted time before asking for a status, which is stated in the forum guidelines.

I don't post a lot here but I read a lot and rarely do the editors that turn ugly.
