How does ODP handle Database driven web pages? I'm a small design shop in Miami, Florida creating a dynamic content site for a law firm. Their NEWS and MEDIA content is very important for them because many people are doing research on the web and the content is relevant to their research, and, of course, if the content is found on a directory, then the website has been found.

Why shouldn't the ODP handle those sites?
It lists sites by their main URL and since it's a directory it does not spider sites...

In other words, we list database driven sites all the time; how the data gets onto the web pages is immaterial.

Sometimes database folks get carried away, in my ignorant opinion. Large sites are sometimes "portalized", and we list sections following the same guidelines as deeplinks. For example, to get to the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services, one now has to use:

* http://www.michigan.gov/cis/0,1607,7-154-10555---,00.html

As a human being, I hate URL's like that, but as an ODP editor I went ahead and listed it. Ah, for the good ol' days, when all URL's were simple, like:

* http://www.ksinsurance.org/ .

You see how Michigan confuses this innocent BBS system?! Shame on them! -- (Don't worry, these URL's work at the ODP just fine.)

Yeah, I understood the difference between the ODP and SE's. But it seemed kind of unfair to think an editor was going to search through the site for a specific link. But then again, I would submit that link directly. I understand that it won't get SPIDERED on the ODP, but I didn't want to drive an editor nuts either. Thanks for the feedback.
