There is no technical limitation.
A site can be listed several times if one or more of the following reasons apply
1) it has both a Regional and a Thematical relevance
2) is available in several languages
3) if an editor thinks a duplicate listing is relevant
So theoreticaly a site could be listed in all categories. In practice this won't happen.

Theres no easy answer to that question, it depends a lot on the sites content. Editors can list a url multiple times, within the guidelines, but it is not recommended (in fact it is specifically interdicted) that sites be suggested to more than one category without being told to do so by an editor.

The official policy on multiple listings is at http://editors.dmoz.org/guidelines/site-specific.html#multiple .

In general (can't say without a url) a site might be listed in a Topical category (such as Business/ or Shopping/ or Games/ trees) and possibly also in its Location (the Regional/ tree). Additionally it can be listed in each (non-machine) translated language it provides, and also possibly also in the Kids and Teens area if age appropriate.

If your site is available in several languages you could suggest it under all of these languages.
If you give us the url we might be of more help

That is an absolute NO.
A site will never be listed twice in closely related categories.

If you want to change the placement of a URL that's already listed, go to the category where it is listed now, and click on "Update listing" in the upper right part of the screen. Then follow the instructions there.

I hope that answers your question. {moz}

To MOVE an existing listing, use the "Update URL" in the CURRENT category.

To suggest a listing to a second category, use the "Suggest URL" in the PROPOSED category.

An editor could take either suggestion as an opportunity to review any aspect of the site's placement, so the effect MIGHT be the same in the end.

Or the editor might just see an obviously unreasonable request and delete it out of hand WITHOUT considering what else might be worth changing about the listing.

So the more specific the suggestion, the more likely the editor will CONSIDER exactly what you suggest. (That doesn't mean he'll do it, of course -- the editor is responsible to the community for following the guidelines, and for using his own best judgment.)

No, it isn't.
If you want to be listed in the given category for Australia you can ask through the update url request at DMOZ. Don't forget to include a good reason for this move.

My prediction, no.

We don't list sites in sub categories of where they are listed already (we could move it).

Regional in this respect is the part of the directory that starts with http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/

I'll save you the time, it's currently got nothing on the site that would make it listable in Regional/../Australia. If it ever does, suggest it to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Localities/H/Hawthorn/Business_and_Economy/ .

Regional listings are based mainly on a physical presence, since the site does not include information on where the call centre is, does not provide details of staff at the Hawthorn address, and does not mention physical readings (someone can walk in to the business), it's currently got insufficient information about said presence to warrant consideration.
