Hi,
i have 3 questions:

1)
"The Open Directory has a policy against the inclusion of sites with illegal content".

Open Directory is full of sites that are still legal.
What are you going to do, if they become illegal?

(URL removed)

2)
I would like to know, what is the reason that i can't find this site listed in your
directory any more:
(URL removed)

3)
I am a patient man, but not stupid.
What is the problem with our inclusion into DMOZ?
(URL removed)

Thanks in advance for your reply,
best regards.

Three answers:

1. If an editor discovers a listed site with illegal content, the editor is free to remove that site from the directory.

2. If you can no longer find a site listed in the directory, there is a very good chance that it is no longer listed in the directory; there is a slight chance that it is in the process of being moved from one category to another, a process that can take an indeterminate length of time.

3. While you were being patient, if you had read the terms and conditions for this forum, you would know that the status of individual sites is not discussed.

Having read said title, I can confidently confirm that spectregunner's thorough and accurate response cannot be improved on.

Spectregunner has extensive editing experience, which is what gives authority in the editing community--and this forum is the "official" forum of the editing community.

The forum isn't the official forum of the ODP itself--only the proprietor can create such a thing (and they haven't.) But the official position of the ODP is that it is the volunteer community that applies the guidelines to specific sites.

The only official ODP documents are the public guidelines, so that is the first place to look for an answer.
This forum is owned and operated by some volunteer DMOZ meta-editors, and the FAQ have been written by them, so that would be the next most authoritative source.
Answers given in this forum may be authoritative or not, depending on the person posting and whether or not they are/were an editor.

Apart from those three resources, there are no other reliable sources of DMOZ information.

makrhod forgot a 4th resource.
There is a blog run by AOL employees about DMOZ. http://blog.dmoz.org/
But you won't find any other answers as already have been given here.
And like R-Z you can not ask questions about individual sites on the blog.

The official documentation (which motsa pointed you to) covers all the issues you asked about, and many more. You should probably start by reading that. If you have any questions about how those principles and guidelines are applied in practice, the voice of experienced editors (such as spectregunner) is the only kind of authority there is. Because there's no such thing as an "appointed official expert"!

Official answer - mission impossible is exactly what i've expected.
This answer is not acceptable.

I will explain you my 3 questions:

My Dmoz headache is a few years long.

[non-ODP information deleted--this is not the place to promote your political dream]

It is well known why is inclusion in Dmoz so much important for all websites.
What is described above, is more than a good reason for our DMOZ problem.

So, as i am here to resolve a problem and not to create problems, and as this problem is resolvable in 5 minutes, i kindly ask you to review our site and send me a result notice.
Otherwise, and i really hope not, my only remaining solution...

Best regards.

The subtitle of this forum is
Forum for discussions about the process of suggesting a site for inclusion. General discussion only, no mention of specific sites here please.
You ignored that and persisted in trying to discuss your website here. We explained that we won't.

You then said
i kindly ask you to review our site and send me a result notice.
We not only don't discuss individual websites in this forum, we don't review them on demand either.
Otherwise, and i really hope not, my only remaining solution...
Please explain. Is that some kind of threat?

Did you ever bother to read the resources we mentioned?
I guess not.

Well, motsa WOULD have pointed there. But in her absence, any other evil meta is allowed to provide the same service.

This answer is not acceptable.

You have an absolute right not to like the answers you have received.

That does not, however, change the answers.

Perhaps it is time to agree to disagree and move on.
