Do you know if there was a specific reason so I can try and fix why it was rejected? I thought it met the guidelines, unlike some of the sites listed which are out of date, don't exist any more, or use the same content script leading to duplicates and exactly the same pages/site/content - I might've overlooked something or messed something up on the site somewhere without realising, so if I could correct that it would be very helpful

Thanks again for any further information you can supply!

Policy here is not to give submitters of this type of site any insight into how they might bypass controls in the future. Don't submit it, or anything like it, again under any circumstances unless you wish us to take more drastic sanctions. Hope that information is useful to you.

lol not really - was merely pointing out there's a lot of discrepancy between the listings, and some sites don't even match up to the submission policies...nothing which wasn't true. Guess the truth hurts?

As for the verbal threatening, don't you think that's perhaps a little childish, over the top, and petty - especially for a longstanding editor like yourself?

Guess the truth hurts?
Sites change, guidelines change, editors make errors, editors get fooled by spammers. Editors clear up quality control problems along with all the other things they do. Why should it hurt?

As for the verbal threatening
No verbal threatening. The guidelines make provision for those who breach them, I'm merely pointing out the consequences of doing so persistently. Must be useful to know that surely? You know you submitted an unlistable site, I know, anyone that spends a few minutes on the site knows. Then you go fishing. Good try but ultimately a waste of your time, my time, other editors' time, other submitters' time. ;)

You say you don't understand the ODP policies. That's OK. There's no law that says you have to understand them -- you aren't volunteering to help, after all!

But -- please don't submit any more sites until you understood why this submittal was spam. You're wasting your time that could have been spent promoting your business less ineffectively -- elsewhere.

For all PRACTICAL purposes, that's the end of the discussion.
