One month and six month rules

In the guidelines, users of this forum are asked to wait a month after submitting a site before enquiring about its status. They are also asked to wait six months before re-enquiring.

In a separate thread, I recently enquired in the Site Submission Status/Shopping forum about a site I had submitted. It turned out that it had never been picked up on the register of submitted sites, and I subsequently decided to submit it to a different category.

I enquired about the new submission after a month, but got no response from the editors.

Can someone tell me if I should have waited six months before re-enquiring, even though the original submission was not registered?

If this is the case, does re-enquiring before six months damage the prospects of the site getting listed?

This forum has no impact, positive or negative, on a site either receiving a review or a listing.

If the result of the first status query is "huh? what site? never saw it before in my life. sure, submit it again" (or the equivalent), then most of us have been reading the rules as permitting the second status query one month after the resubmittal.

And emphatically second djdeeds' comment. This is a status query, not at all the same thing as a site review and basically never done at the same time. And an active editor might review hundreds of sites a week -- so who's going to recognize the site someone asked about even last week?
